METHOD OF PLAY - CHAMPIONSHIP

18-Holes, Individual Stroke Play Qualifier Cut to Top 32 for Match Play

 

In the event of a tie for the final qualifier spot for Match Play, there will be a sudden death playoff to determine who advances. 

 

For Match Play seeding, ties in qualifying round will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by their performance in the play-off.

 

In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off and (b) the round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won (Rule 3.2a (4)).

 

Conditions of any playoffs will be announced on-site by the OGA Rules Committee.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility for this event is limited to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

 

• Must be a resident of the state of Oklahoma or be a full-time student at an Oklahoma college or university.
• Must have received an exemption (click here) or qualified through a Stroke Play Qualifier.
• Must have created a Player's Account Through Golf Genius - Register Now
• Participants must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

EXEMPTIONS - USGA U.S. AMATEUR

The Champion of the 113th OGA State Amateur Championship will receive an exemption to play in the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship at Olympic Club on August 11-17, 2025.

 

All four semi-finalists of Oklahoma State Amateur Championship will also be exempt from local qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Amateur being held at Merion Golf Club.
